My life has been a complete disaster, and God bless it all. Because we learn the most in the messes—as long as we slow down enough to notice what God is trying to teach us. "

Hannah Brown, 24, discovered she wasn't sure what she wanted after being thrust into the spotlight. She had become highly recognizable after years of competing in beauty pageants and then starring in The Bachelorette and Dancing with the Stars. She was in her early twenties, and millions of people all around the world were scrutinizing and weighing in on her every move. She began to ponder what it might be like to live on her terms. She wanted to stop relying on others' approval and, for the first time, decide what she wanted from her own life.

God Bless This Mess is a memoir that doesn't claim to have all the answers. It's an honest and genuine study of her mid-twenties. Hannah is well aware that she does not possess all of the solutions. She does, however, have the perspective of someone who has spent vital years of her life in the public eye. As a result, a quarter-life memoir emerges, speaking to the set of challenges that young women confront and how to navigate them gracefully. Hannah inspires others to do the same—and to embrace the messiness that comes with self-discovery—by fighting against her ingrained need for acceptance and learning to think critically about her aims and ambitions (even if that sometimes means falling flat on your face).

Hannah doesn't shy away from the most difficult situations in her life, using her time on The Bachelorette as a springboard; moments when her faith was questioned, moments when she believed it was lost, and moments when she recovered it on national television. "And Jesus continues to love me." The never-before-told stories about dealing with depression and anxiety throughout her pageant years, how counseling and blogging have proven to be lifesavers, and the previously private moments—both at home and on television—that have influenced the star's worldview will inspire fans.
