A Letter to Three Witches (Paperback)

In this bright, witty love comedy with an enchanted twist from famed novelist Elizabeth Bass, Bewitched meets Practical Magic. A trio of witches whose family was barred from performing magic risk getting into major trouble with the Grand Council of Witches when their powers go feral due to romance difficulties. Is it possible for them to reclaim their magic—and their love lives—before it's too late?

"A magical paranormal romance...Practical Magic fans will be ecstatic. "  —Publishers Weekly

Gwen Engel's great-great-grandfather cast a charm with disastrous consequences over a century ago. As a result, his descendants were forbidden from practicing witchcraft by the Grand Council of Witches. The Council even placed watchers in the community as anonymous informants to report any incorrect spellcasting...

However, magic may still exist in Zenobia, albeit in a dormant state. Gwen and her cousins, Trudy and Milo, get a letter from Tannith, Gwen's adopted sister, alerting them that she has charmed one of their partners and will flee with him at the end of the week. While Gwen considers whether or not to trust her scientific boyfriend, who is away on a beetle-studying expedition, she is concerned that local grad student Jeremy is a Watcher, conducting his research.

Cousin Trudy is so stressed out that she enchants her cupcakes by accident, causing mayhem among her bakery customers—and in her marriage. Perhaps it's time the family regained control and learned to control their abilities. How else can Gwen tell if her feelings for Jeremy are genuine or the product of eating too many of Trudy's cupcakes?

About the authors: Elizabeth Bass

Elizabeth Bass
Elizabeth Bass writes women's literature under her name, and as Liz Freeland, she is the author of the Louise Faulk historical mystery series, which began with Murder in Greenwich Village and is published by Kensington Books (June 2018). She also published several romantic novels under the pen name Liz Ireland.

Elizabeth grew up on the outskirts of a small East Texas town. Animals and Humphrey Bogart were her first passions in life. She could have gladly stayed an illiterate bunny caregiver addicted to black-and-white flicks on the late, late show if it hadn't been for a father who kept the house filled with books and some tireless primary school teachers.

She lives in Victoria, British Columbia, where she writes, freelance edits, and, on most days, finds time to watch an old movie.
