Lorena Hughes
Lorena Hughes was born and raised in Ecuador before immigrating to the United States at the age of 18. She graduated from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor's degree in visual arts and a master's degree in mass communication and journalism. Her passion is storytelling, and she creates thrillers set in South America that are laced with mystery and family secrets. Her earlier work received first prize in the historical fiction category at the 2011 Southwest Writers International Contest, honorable mention at the 2012 Soul-Making Keats Literary Competition, and was a quarter-finalist for the 2014 Amazon Breakout Novel Award. Her most recent book, The Spanish Daughter, will be released in December 2021.
